Reaction:  What was Manifest Destiny?


Make a chart including the five communities discussed in this chapter. For each, answer the following questions:

• What is the location of the community in the state of Washington? What are the special geographical features associated with it?
• Who were the first settlers?
• Why did settlers select that particular site to build a town?
• What major events affected or changed the community?
• What became of this place in later years?
